Présentation

Boa Mistura is a graffiti art collective born in Madrid at the end of 2001.
Their work develops mainly in public spaces, as a transformative element creating or modifying people's relationships with the place where they live, as well as the ties that exist between them.

Collaborative practices have been part of the collective's working methodology for over a decade. Many of their projects are based on participation as a means of connecting people to their public space.

BOA MISTURA
Présentation de l'oeuvre

This artistic work delves into the relationship between two old European sanctuaries: the grand cathedral and the mystical forest. Just as the cathedral stands tall with its majestic vaults and imposing columns, symbolizing human greatness and the quest for the divine, the forest does likewise, shrouded in lush foliage and dense vegetation, serving as a natural temple invoking reverence and awe in the face of creation. Both settings serve as spaces of contemplation and introspection, where the human spirit seeks to transcend the earthly and commune with the sacred. In this artwork, we have overlaid the blueprint of Rouen Cathedral into the forest,  framing a space defined by concrete geometry, where each tree becomes a towering pillar, its branches reaching skyward. The light filtering through the leaves mimics stained glass, casting shards of color into the forest, altering our perception of it. Through this creation, we invite the viewer to ponder the interconnection of humanity and nature, of the divine and the earthly.
